Search Engine Optimization for Small Businesses
Despite all the so-called “gurus” telling you that SEO will bring you “free” traffic, any small business owner who has tried to get his or her site optimized can tell you that SEO is far from free. Yes, it will most likely have a much better ROI than any other marketing channel you pursue – but once you factor in the cost of professional SEO services or the time and sweat it takes to do it yourself, SEO is anything but free.
And that’s exactly why I wrote this. You may have been burned by shoddy SEOs in the past, who took your money gladly but failed to deliver much value in terms of search engine traffic. Or, maybe you signed up for an expensive SEO membership program that was mostly just full of hype and up-sells from the self-proclaimed guru and slim on actual content. My goal with this tutorial is to offer you a free, no-nonsense introduction to what really matters in SEO. No fluff; no prolonged diatribes about algorithms; no fancy metaphors – just the facts.
My hope is that you take this knowledge and apply it to your business starting today. You don’t have to do it all at once. Just make sure you do it. One step at a time if necessary. And the sooner you get started, the better. If you do that, I fully expect to see you at the top of the search engines very soon.
The site is divided into 3 major sections:
These sections will show you how to research and implement an effective SEO strategy for your small business website. Get started with SEO Planning, or use the drop-down navigation at the top of every page to find the information you want.
Good luck!
